If any of you care about wins, you are already on the wrong path. You should care more about your player developing in his or her basic skills: skating and puck handling, body position, shooting, passing.
Learning a system or bitching about players not passing on your team is ridiculous. There should be no game plan other than to just go out and play. And go make mistakes. And just get better.
Half ice would be better.
I didn’t know there were half ice squirt teams.
Sorry to be blunt, but your advice to just go out and play is stupid. Do we tell kids in baseball to just line up whereever they feel and do what ever they want on the field? Do kids at this age in soccer just go out and play without structure? No. Even USAH recommends a % of practice time be spent on “team play” and structure at this age.
